Donna Karan, the Daughter of a fashion model and a haberdasher, was sharp in fashion since childhood.
She attended Parsons School of Design.
After her 2nd year, she took a summer job with Anne Klein, from which she never returned to school again.
Donna Karan was made associate designer in 1971.
When Anne Klein became ill, Donna Karan became the head designer.
Donna Karan’s hallmark has always been wear-ability; classic sportswear looks with a stylish edge and an element of tough chic.
Donna Karan's first collection under her own label DKNY established her immediately as a new fashion star.
